Applies to stationary or portable, single-phase or polyphase, air-cooled separating transformers, autotransformers, variable transformers and small reactors, associated or not, and have a rated supply voltage of not more than 1 000 V a.c., a rated frequency of not more than 500 Hz, a rated no-load or load output voltage of not more than 15 kV a.c. or d.c. and a rated output not exceeding 1 kVA for single-phase transformers, 2 kVAR for single-phase reactors, 5kVA for polyphase transformers and 10 kVAR for polyphase reactors, unless stated otherwise in the relevant chapters.
