Abstract

Covers minimum performance criteria for electrically heated and ventilated precision ovens for thermal endurance evaluation of electrical insulating materials and other similar applications. Covers ovens intended to operate over all or part of the temperature range from 20K above room temperature up to 300 degrees C. Covers two methods to achieve the required performance; a) where required performance is achieved by precise control of temperature in a single chamber oven; and b) where the required performance is achieved by use of a second chamber (iso-box) within the chamber of a single-chamber oven. The aim is to reduce magnitude of any temperature changes to an acceptable level while retaining required air change and circulation levels.
