Abstract

Applies to the principal sub-assemblies or function elements used with analogue or digital ratemeters to form systems for rate measurement. These systems are used in nuclear instrumentation for the continuous measurement of the counting rates of random pulses in the range of 0.1 to 10[6] c s[-1] produced by detectors such as counter tubes or fission ionization chambers. The sub-assemblies considered are: analogue biased trigger circuits, HV power supplies for detectors, analogue electrical isolators, double time constant filters and auxiliary circuits (an example of a rate measuring system is shown in Figure 1, page 13).
