Abstract

Describes electrical, mechanical, and safety requirements & conformance tests for distribution, power and autotransformers, either single-phase or poly-phase, with ventilated, non-ventilated or sealed enclosures. Remotely or integrally associated with primary or secondary switchgear or substations, 601 volts through 34 500 volts sizes 1 kVA through 2 500 kVA. For installation as in ANSI/NFPA 70-1987. Manufacturers should demonstrate performance requirements are met by tests on representative model. Exceptions. Regulators: (1) Step-voltage and induction voltage, (2) Current transformers: (3) Arc furnace (4) Rectifier (5) Speciality (6) Mine (7) Instrument (8) Motor starting reactors and transformers in non-conventional varnish impregnated systems. Excludes electrical utilities.
