Abstract

Specifies safety requirements for rotary lawnmowers including both petrol and electric types. A comprehensive set of test methods is employed to check the adequacy of design of the safety features and the robustness of the mower. The Standard is based on, but is not technically identical to, ISO 5395.

Scope

This standard specifies requirements for the construction and design of powered rotary lawnmowers, together with appropriate test methods for qualitatively assessing the robustness of the cutting means and their means of attachment.
The standard does not include performance requirements for lawnmowers other than those relating to safety.
