Measurement of fluid flow in closed conduits Volumetric methods - By volume
Standards Australia
Specifies a method for the determination of water flow, in a conduit running full, by measurement of the volume of water delivered into a volumetric tank in a known time interval. The application is generally for fixed laboratory installations with flow rates of less than 1500 kL/s. It is identical with and has been reproduced from ISO 8316:1987.
This Standard sets out the reference method for determining the calcium oxide content of blended cement and its constituents. Alternative procedures are permitted provided that the alternatives do not significantly affect the results. A method of qualifying alternative procedures is given in Appendix A.
NOTE: Where test results are to be used to calculate the proportions of a blended cement, the same procedure, referee or alternate, should be used for analysis of the constituents and the blended cement.
If the installation for flow-rate measurement by the volumetric method is used for purposes of legal metrology, it shall be certified and registered by the national metrology service. Such installations are then subject to periodic inspection at stated intervals. If a national metrology service does not exist, a certified record of the basic measurement standards (length, time and temperature), and error analysis in accordance with this International Standard and ISO 5168, shall also constitute certification for legal metrology purposes.
Annex A forms an integral part of this International Standard. Annexes B to E, however, are given for information only.
