Abstract

Specifies requirements for wrought aluminium and aluminium alloy flat sheet, coiled sheet and plate for general engineering purposes. Chemical composition, mechanical properties and allowable tolerances on dimensions are specified. An appendix provides information on typical fabrication characteristics and applications.

Scope

This Standard specifies requirements for wrought aluminium and aluminium alloy flat sheet, coiled sheet and plate for general engineering purposes. It applies to locally manufactured or imported material grades commonly used in Australia and New Zealand.

NOTES:
1 Advice and recommendations on information to be supplied by the purchaser at the time of enquiry or order are contained in the purchasing guidelines set out in Appendix A.
2 Typical fabrication characteristics and application data for wrought aluminium and aluminium alloys are given in Appendix B.
