Scope
This Standard sets out performance characteristics of devices used in, and procedures for, the removal and disposal of scalpel blades and similar instruments, e.g. stitch cutters, from scalpel handles.
NOTE: This Standard is to be used in conjunction with AS 4031 and AS/NZS 4261 to the extent that it relates to containers accompanying devices used for the purposes of scalpel blade removal. This Standard should also be read in conjunction with AS/NZS 3816.
