Scope

This Standard sets out the method for the preparation, curing and assessment of resistance to stripping of cover aggregates from bituminous binders in the presence of water. This method may be used for various combinations of aggregate and binders with or without the use of precoated materials or adhesion agents.
The assessment is based on visual inspection of the particles after their removal from a binder which is cured on metal plates under standard conditions. It is not applicable to aggregate particles greater than 20 mm or less than 9.5 mm.
