Specifies general requirements for vertical shaft mine winding conveyance suspension equipment for use in underground mines. Design, materials, manufacture and testing are specified. Appendices provide requirements for 1.5 manganese steel, recommendations for inspection and maintenance, design guidelines for loaded holes and pins, and information on ruling section and equivalent section.
