Provides a guide to the features and typical characteristics that are expected of interior clear coatings for timber floors when applied by brush or pad applicator in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

This document provides a guide to the features and typical characteristics that are expected of interior clear coatings for timber floors when applied by brush or applicator (pad/lambswool) in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Products complying with this Standard may be one of the following types:
Type 1 - Single-pack solvent-based oxidising tung oil-based.
Type 2 - Single-pack solvent-based or solvent-free moisture cure urethane.
Type 3 - Two-pack solvent-based or solvent-free polyurethane.
Type 4 - Water-based.
Paints satisfying the requirements of this guide are equivalent to paint Type B19, B19A, B20 or B43 of AS/NZS 2311, Table 4.1.
