Specifies the amount of pure gold that must be present in an article and the method of indicating the gold content. Composition and marking requirements for setting alloys are specified, and provision is also made for base metal parts and for gold articles that have been filled with other substances during their manufacture.
This Standard sets out the composition and marking requirements for precious metal articles, including articles of jewellery.
NOTE: This specification does not apply to articles intended for industrial purposes.
