Abstract

Specifies requirements for coarse aggregates for use in the manufacture of asphalt. The requirements relate to the quality of rock and other properties of aggregates and refer to test methods given in AS 1141 series.

Scope

This Standard provides a basis for specifying requirements for coarse aggregates for use in the manufacture of asphalt. The requirements relate to quality of rock and other properties of coarse aggregates. A coarse aggregate may be produced from rock, gravel, metallurgical slag or suitable synthetic materials.
